We put this in our 2nd story planter-box as an additional decorative touch. It was plugged in and running 24/7 for over a month with no issues + it has a built-in light. Though I liked it, I still feel it was a tad on the expensive side for it's size... which is why I only purchased just the elf and not a Santa as well. Would still recommend.
